The following is a reply to an email discussion list in Dec. 2000, after several articles appeared about the current Apostolic fever, particularly in the USA. I felt the Lord prompting me to write a brief warning, and to let others know about the Revelations and wisdom He had given to Rick Joyner and others.

Hi all, a few thoughts,

Two recent Morningstar bulletins by Rick Joyner are relevant to this discussion - "Shepherd's Astray" and "Q's and A's". They can be found at Morningstarministries.org in the bulletins section. Basically, Rick warns about self-promotion and the premature claims of some who are called but not yet commissioned. I have big problems with the publicity machines of some of our big Aussie churches, and the premature push they give to many under their care.

Too many churches are too free to label "Prophets" and "Apostles". If you're called to it, fine, but don't use the label until you're commissioned by the Lord - there's nothing wrong with "Prophetic Minister". The label of the office has to be treated carefully - Paul Cain says he doesn't even rate as a prophet compared to what the Lord has in store, and the Lord told Bob Jones face to face that Paul Cain was "the highest mantle prophet on the face of the earth at this time" (mid-80's). I've yet to see anyone even close to his league, so you fellow baby-prophets BE CAREFUL!!! Don't let others push you beyond your current level of grace.

Also, many feel confused when the flow of revelation slows down. You are not always going to receive a constant flow all the time. The Lord has us all in training, and there have been plenty of words that He's saving some, keeping them in hiding, until the right time. Rick warns about a false/premature Apostolic movement that will deceive many. Don't move out until the Lord has you positioned, prepared, and has made it clear that its the right time.

We so often miss it on timing - even Bob Jones has become very much more careful about dates, unless the Lord actually speaks it to him. Prophetic Vision is like looking through binoculars, without knowing the magnification factor - it always looks like its happening tomorrow, when in fact there may be decades yet before the Lord is ready to release us.

Don't mistake a foretaste for a release, and remember that a foretaste often is followed by an absence, to give you a taste-for (Paul Cain joke)

.

Sorry if I've preached a bit - it was on my heart. We are in great danger of taking ourselves too seriously before time. The great flood of Prophetic stuff appearing has a great amount of mixture yet. We need the wisdom to allow ourselves time. God won't let us miss our time, if we hold to Is 66:2, He'll get us there. Remember Moses, when God finally commissioned him he felt he was no longer capable, and the Lord basically had to yell at him.
