The following Revelation was received by Paul Davies in April 2004. As with all prophetic words, these must be weighed and tested with a spirit of humility and repentance. Where Bible passages are referred to, the interpretations given are not intended to be seen as the interpretation of the passage, but as God speaking to his people's current situation by giving an interpretation.
With the recent resumption of open fighting in Iraq, after what seemed like a turn-around for that nation at the end of the 2nd War, the Lord has been reminding me of His account of the current events - particularly Jeremiah 50:3: "A nation from the north will attack her and lay waste her land. No one will live in it; both men and animals will flee away." 4 "In those days, at that time," declares the LORD, "the people of Israel and the people of Judah together will go in tears to seek the LORD their God. 5 They will ask the way to Zion and turn their faces towards it. They will come and bind themselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten. 6 "My people have been lost sheep; their shepherds have led them astray and caused them to roam on the mountains. They wandered over mountain and hill and forgot their own resting place. 7 Whoever found them devoured them; their enemies said, "We are not guilty, for they sinned against the LORD, their true pasture, the LORD, the hope of their fathers.' 8 "Flee out of Babylon; leave the land of the Babylonians, and be like the goats that lead the flock.
I believe we are seeing the breakdown in the region which will eventually set the stage for: "...lay waste her land. No one will live in it; both men and animals will flee away."
There certainly seems to have been weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, even though they have not been found by the Coalition (They were later found but it only rated a tiny page 7 notice in the paper). A number of reputable Prophetic voices have said that some will be found in Iraq, though most were moved out prior to the War, and are in the hands of terrorists. I believe that some level of nuclear, chemical or biological pollution of the land will occur, which is why "No one will live in it." It may even be connected to destruction of the oilfields in the region.
Recently, the Lord highlighted the accompanying verses to me, concerning a revival amongst God's people, and I believe this includes the nation of Israel. There is more understanding the Lord will release on this in the future.
At the moment, I sense the Holy Spirit urging again for God's people to: "Flee out of Babylon; leave the land of the Babylonians, and be like the goats that lead the flock." I strongly believe that we need to pray for Iraqi Christians that they hear clearly from the Lord about when they should leave, as the situation at the moment doesn't look like it will settle down. God has provided a chance for Iraqi Christians to get out of the region, and they need clear revelation from the Lord about what each individual is called to do.
I urge Christians who read this to pass it on to Iraqis they know, that they may at least be informed and seek God for guidance. I have attached the earlier article about this subject below.
Blessings,
Paul D

Iraqi War - 2002
When the Gulf War began in the early '90's, I was led to Jeremiah 50-51, dealing with God's judgment against Babylon (modern Iraq occupies the same area). Saddam Hussein has been rebuilding the ancient city of Babylon, and some claim he sees himself as a modern Nebuchadnezzar. It is interesting that all the Prophets were cautioning this isn't yet the time - not saying that attacking Iraq itself is wrong. Please note that many of the outcomes mentioned in this passage have not yet been fulfilled. Also, these interpretations may not be the final word on the subject, and do not nullify alternate interpretations of the passage - the Word of God is living and Active
There's so much in this - I'll just pull out some of the obvious verses.
In Jeremiah 50:3: "A nation from the north will attack her and lay waste her land.
I believe this is a warning for the Christians in Iraq/Middle East - those who have bound themselves to the Lord (v5). They have been lost, led astray (Islamic teaching/deception), and been devoured by their enemies. V8 is clear: Get Out! v9 tells why.
9 For I will stir up and bring against Babylon an alliance of great nations from the land of the north. They will take up their positions against her, and from the north she will be captured. Their arrows will be like skilled warriors who do not return empty-handed. 10 So Babylonia will be plundered; all who plunder her will have their fill," declares the LORD.
Alliance = US and Britain. Positions should be obvious. Arrows that don't miss = laser-guided munitions (can anyone forget the images from 1991 of the bombs hitting targets?). Babylon will be plundered (v10).
11 "Because you rejoice and are glad, you who pillage my inheritance, because you frolic like a heifer threshing corn and neigh like stallions, 12 your mother will be greatly ashamed; she who gave you birth will be disgraced. She will be the least of the nations--a wilderness, a dry land, a desert. 13 Because of the LORD's anger she will not be inhabited but will be completely desolate. All who pass Babylon will be horrified and scoff because of all her wounds. Those who rejoice at the plundering of Israel and the killing of Christians will be disgraced. This is a warning to Iraq. At the moment, they are not crossing this line. v13 shows the result when they do. 14 "Take up your positions round Babylon, all you who draw the bow. Shoot at her! Spare no arrows, for she has sinned against the LORD. 15 Shout against her on every side! She surrenders, her towers fall, her walls are torn down. Since this is the vengeance of the LORD, take vengeance on her; do to her as she has done to others.
I see here that the war will eventually happen, but the implication is that Iraq does something to provoke vengeance - possibly against Israel.
21 "Attack the land of Merathaim and those who live in Pekod. Pursue, kill and completely destroy them," declares the LORD. "Do everything I have commanded you. 22 The noise of battle is in the land, the noise of great destruction! 23 How broken and shattered is the hammer of the whole earth! How desolate is Babylon among the nations! 24 I set a trap for you, O Babylon, and you were caught before you knew it; you were found and captured because you opposed the LORD.
Merathaim = "double rebellion". Pekod = "punishment" (Puqudu- a tribe on lower Tigris river {NIV Study Bible}). v24 states that Iraq will oppose the Lord.
39 "So desert creatures and hyenas will live there, and there the owl will dwell. It will never again be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation. 40 As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah along with their neighbouring towns," declares the LORD, "so no-one will live there; no man will dwell in it.
This implies a severe judgment on the land - maybe Nuclear/Chemical/Biological pollution.
41 "Look! An army is coming from the north; a great nation and many kings are being stirred up from the ends of the earth. 42 They are armed with bows and spears; they are cruel and without mercy. They sound like the roaring sea as they ride on their horses; they come like men in battle formation to attack you, O Daughter of Babylon.
This can easily be applied to the US and modern weapons. "Roaring sea" is a good metaphor for the scream of a jet-engined fighter.
1 This is what the LORD says: "See, I will stir up the spirit of a destroyer against Babylon and the people of Leb Kamai. 2 I will send foreigners to Babylon to winnow her and to devastate her land; they will oppose her on every side in the day of her disaster. 3 Let not the archer string his bow, nor let him put on his armour. Do not spare her young men; completely destroy her army. 4 They will fall down slain in Babylon, fatally wounded in her streets.
5 For Israel and Judah have not been forsaken by their God, the LORD Almighty, though their land is full of guilt before the Holy One of Israel.
6 "Flee from Babylon! Run for your lives! Do not be destroyed because of her sins. It is time for the LORD's vengeance; he will pay her what she deserves.
v5 - Modern Israel is full of guilt. v6 is the clear warning to Iraqi Christians - GET OUT NOW!
7 Babylon was a gold cup in the LORD's hand; she made the whole earth drunk. The nations drank her wine; therefore they have now gone mad. 8 Babylon will suddenly fall and be broken. Wail over her! Get balm for her pain; perhaps she can be healed. 9 ""We would have healed Babylon, but she cannot be healed; let us leave her and each go to his own land, for her judgment reaches to the skies, it rises as high as the clouds.'
These verses deal with the consequences to the nations. Iraq's "wine" is the oil, which has been a blessing to many nations, but their over-indulgence has left them in a dangerous situation if the oil is not available. I believe most of the next verses deal with the ancient overthrow of Babylon by the Medes and Persians during the time of Daniel (the writing on the wall). However, v 29 has not yet been fulfilled:
29 The land trembles and writhes, for the LORD's purposes against Babylon stand--to lay waste the land of Babylon so that no-one will live there.
45 "Come out of her, my people! Run for your lives! Run from the fierce anger of the LORD. 46 Do not lose heart or be afraid when rumours are heard in the land; one rumour comes this year, another the next, rumours of violence in the land and of ruler against ruler. 47 For the time will surely come when I will punish the idols of Babylon; her whole land will be disgraced and her slain will all lie fallen within her. 48 Then heaven and earth and all that is in them will shout for joy over Babylon, for out of the north destroyers will attack her," declares the LORD. 49 "Babylon must fall because of Israel's slain, just as the slain in all the earth have fallen because of Babylon. 50 You who have escaped the sword, leave and do not linger! Remember the LORD in a distant land, and think on Jerusalem." Once again, a clear warning to the Iraqi Christians to leave.
I believe that in response to the clear Prophetic Words from mature Prophets, we need to pray for time. We need to pray that George Bush will not attack Iraq before God's time, and that the Christians in Iraq will receive the warning and have the opportunity to leave. Our nation (Australia) is a place of safety at this time - we are not under any serious threat, so we can focus our intercession overseas.
Militarily, I don't believe Australia could contribute much to an Iraqi war anyway - we're pretty much stretched thin with Timor and Afghanistan, and the ADF just isn't ready to pick up another conflict-zone (our forces aren't trained up or equipped well enough - money hasn't been and still isn't available). NZ doesn't have any capability left either, thanks to her PM. Some are concerned about us becoming a target for terrorism, but the RAAF SecPol guys I've spoken to aren't overly concerned.
Iraqi christians need to pray seriously about this to determine whether the Lord is saying to them to act on this. If you know any Iraqi Christian emails, send them a copy, and ask them to pass it on.
Hope this sparks something positive.

FREEDOM OF CHRISTIAN WORSHIP IN IRAQ
IMPORTANT Note by Steve Shultz: The words below by Graham Cooke, Bob Jones, Keith Davis, and David Dreiling are all warnings about coming disastrous results if we go into Iraq right now, or too soon. Paul Cain is giving the same warning. We MUST PRAY in large numbers that God will give President Bush WISDOM and PATIENCE in his decisions regarding Iraq. Christians in IRAQ have more freedom of religion than any Arab Country. Saddam Hussein is no saint, that's for sure. But Christians do have freedom of worship there. But that may all be suddenly over and Christians may be subject to a bloodbath (according to this word below) if Saddam Hussein is taken out of the way.
This is a reposting of this same warning that we originally posted at the end of April, 2002. Please pray that if the U.S. attacks Iraq against the Lord's will, that the Lord will override some of the consequences that the prophets are seeing. Have mercy on us Lord. And have mercy on President Bush in his decision-making.
Blessings to you all,
Steve Shultz

"WHEN SADDAM HUSSEIN IS KILLED, 'EVERY CHRISTIAN IN THAT NATION WILL LIKELY BE KILLED'"
By Graham Cooke
(Note by Steve Shultz: This word was transcribed from the conference called, "THE CHURCH IN TRANSITION," held in Frederick, Maryland, April 23-25 With Graham Cooke, Paul Cain, and Steve Shultz. The complete tape set (9 tapes) are available online at: http://theelijahlist.safeshopper.com/342/cat342.htm
"God is doing far more behind our backs than He is in front of our face. There are things that are happening right now in our own society and our own culture that are led by the Spirit. They just don't have any Christian involvement right now.
God is appearing to all kinds of people. You know, in Iraq and Iran right now, out in the villages, the number of villages that have come to Christ in the last five years with no Christians preaching the gospel and with no Christian involvement -- Jesus himself coming and just appearing to people.
One of the reasons - during the gulf war where millions of European Christians got on their knees and prayed that God would halt the advance of the allied armies because God told them we [who are interceding] do not want Saddam Hussein killed because this man is non-religious. He has no faith. He is a secular politician, and one thing he has done in his country ≠ he has allowed Christians to proselytize.
He allows Christian churches to live as his way of keeping the Muslim ≠ the "Imams" ≠ in check. You know that once he gets killed there will be a bloodbath in that nation, and every Christian in that nation will likely be killed because they are on somebody's list right now
Here we are talking again about taking him out, and the one thing we cannot trust on the earth is government, any government. The only thing we can trust is the work of the Holy Spirit. I tell you, we need to pray for Saddam Hussein right now. No matter what you think about it, this guy is the only one standing between the church in Iran and Iraq and a bloodbath.
He is the only one!We need that guy alive because thousands upon thousands upon thousands of people are getting saved in his country. There is a move of God there.
Interesting, I am absolutely not surprised right now that there is conflict between the Muslim world and the Christian world because there are incredible moves of God going on in the Muslim community. One thing we don't need right now is wild west diplomacy from any country in that place that just thinks about revenge, and so on.I am not surprised that the devil is trying to pit the Muslim world against the Christian one, in every single nation, because there are incredible moves of God going on in those places, and we need to pray. I mean, just supposing that Osama Bin Laden is the modern day equivalent of Saul of Tarsus. (Graham clarified later that he is NOT PROPHESYING that Osama Bin Laden is like a modern Saul of Tarsus. He is only asking the question, "What if?"
Do you ever think about that?
Ever think that maybe he might be the one that God wants to save and use to open up the whole Muslim world. Would you think about that? It is so easy just to get into a mindset that is destructive, focused on destruction. What if God wants this guy to get saved? Interesting, eh?
Don't be guided in your prayers by politicians for goodness sake.

OTHER PROPHETIC WARNINGS:
**************************
March 5, 2002 By Bob Jones and Paul Keith Davis
MANY PROPHETIC LEADERS ARE RECEIVING CLEAR WARNINGABOUT OUR NATIONS INVOLVEMENT IN IRAQ. We MUST intervene through prayer and ask the Lord to cause the hearts of our nation's leaders to wisely handle this critical decision. There are certain boundaries that the Lord has set which we cannot cross in our pursuit of terrorism.A sincere and honorable brother we know in Australia was shown in a prophetic experience how delicate and important these decisions are. The Lord has promised that our prayers can make the difference.
------------------------Here is his experience:------------------------
"A few days ago I had an experience where I found myself standing on a very high rocky mountain with the Lord. The Lord then pointed to a large volcano in the distant a multitude of demonic creatures were coming out of the Volcano. I said Lord what is this? He said; These are spirits of hate and they are being sent to inflame the Islamic world with intense hatred. These will be triggered by the USA going into certain Nations in pursuit of terrorists. If this horde of demons is released they will also inflame every protest group in the world. Ethnic groups and all dissident groups will be affected. This, if allowed to happen will have grave consequences for Israel especially in the biological warfare arena.I had the impression that this will happen if the USA goes into one particular Nation which at present I don't know which Nation. It may pursue terrorists into other Nations without this affect being triggered, but there is one Nation they must not go into. The Lord also indicated that this could be avoided by intercession."

Paul Cain, Saturday night, September 21 --Albany Oregon Vineyard Christian Fellowship . . .
"...My assistant majored in Middle East studies in college . I was able to take him to the Middle East a number of times and I was scheduled to go to Iraq to see you know who. I've been there to see the gentlemen that our President doesn't call a gentleman. But he is a very interesting man, and I want you to START PRAYING that we won't start playing cowboy and Indians here and get some negotiations going. We need to try some diplomacy here before we do anything else. It's like shoot first and ask questions later. They've been trying to get me before this President. We were close to the last President and I was known as a somewhat of an unofficial advisor to him. But he never took any of my advice. He never took any of my advice about moral things. But he did take my advise about some political things and God really did a wonderful work there. But they haven't been able to get me before our present President, because he knows I want to talk about Iraq. I want you to be praying about Iraq because Israel is at stake and that doesn't mean that Iraq is the one that's going to hit them either. Of course Iraq is being blamed for a lot of things. I wasn't supposed to be political. Everywhere I go I don't expect to get invited back anyway. [humor] At my age you can't make too many rounds anyway. . ."
