Next Wave 2 (2005)

The following Revelation was received by Paul Davies in Jan 2005. As with all prophetic words, these must be weighed and tested with a spirit of humility and repentance. Where Bible passages are referred to, the interpretations given are not intended to be seen as the interpretation of the passage, but as God speaking to his people's current situation by giving an interpretation.

In a series of World events at Christmas 2004 the Lord began to speak to me about the coming Harvest – and particularly the Next Wave of the Holy Spirit. ( refer to page Next Wave)

On Christmas Day we were in the Grampian Mountains, Victoria, staying in a Caravan Park. Ten minutes up the hill at McKenzie Falls a tragedy occurred which affected me greatly. The man in the Cabin next to us told of his visit to the Falls, where 4 people had drowned that day. He was coming down the steep stairs as they heard the screams and yelling. Over the next few days the details emerged on the News. A family group of around 50 Pakistani Muslims had gone to the Falls. A twelve-year-old girl had slipped on the wet rocks and fallen into deep water, about 2m from shore. Instead of throwing or passing something to her, 4 of her relatives jumped into the water to “help”.

None of them could swim!

Only a 17-year-old sister survived, being resuscitated on the shore by a stranger. The girl, her father and two uncles drowned. This affected me quite a bit, as in my job as a teacher I train teenagers in Swimming and Lifesaving in our Adventure Ed. course. I actually felt guilty for not having visited the Falls (instead of having Christmas dinner with my extended family), because I would have been able to save someone.

I “knew” God was saying something.

The very Next Day came tragedy #2 – the Tsunami which killed at least 250,000 people in South East Asia. This event dominated the News for over three weeks, and has led to a lot of confusion in the church about judgement and whether God was responsible.

The third tragedy was a week later, when visiting the grandparents at Warrnambool, Victoria. We took the children swimming at Stingray Bay on Friday, a sand spit along the breakwater between two small islands, which at low tide forms a great sheltered beach.  Saturday, we drove home to Adelaide. Sunday, 4 people drowned at Stingray Bay. They were trying to wade across to one of the islands as the tide was coming in (Why? Beats me). A freak wave came and swept 4 people into the sea.

I was a little nervous about going to VacSwim the next week.

Then the Lord began to put it all together. Ten years ago Next October (2005) I was asking Him about the “receding tide” of the Wave that brought in the River, or the Toronto Blessing. I saw people in ministry looking at their feet and saying: “Where is the depth we saw?” (maturity), “Why is the tide receding?” “We thought this would last.”  The vision zoomed out till the people were tiny, and I could now see a massive tidal wave poised to fall on them, which was drawing the water into itself. Then the wave fell vertically, cut the sand from beneath their feet, and they went from paddling depth to out-of-depth in seconds. I was reminded: “Suddenly the Lord your God will come into His temple.”

The Lord told me: The Next Wave will be as far beyond Toronto as Toronto was beyond the former.

So, when I saw the Sth East Asian Wave I began asking the Lord what was happening. He replied:

THE WAVE IS COMING! TIME IS SHORT TO BE TRAINED (to get ready).

The Lord did not initiate this wave – Satan did! The enemy knows what God is about to do, and always responds by attempting to kill off the potential harvest. When God sends judgment, few survive (Noah, Sodom). God rescued many by miracles. He definitely uses the enemy’s plans for His own purposes, as some have pointed out in this circumstance (eg Aceh), but He is about to send revival to Sth East Asia.

Unlike the Pakistanis, we need to be able to survive when the depth suddenly increases. We need to learn to “swim”. Time is short! Maybe October will be “it”.  At the moment, we don’t have the “lifeboats” (structures/leaders) in the church to rescue the people the Lord’s Wave will sweep in.

We need to encourage one another to be ready, and train as many as we can ourselves. Stockpile resources. Start classes. Seek the Lord for His divine strategies, so that we are not found wanting when the Wave hits.

Blessings,

Paul D
