The following Revelation was received by Paul Davies on 26th Feb, 1999. As with all prophetic words, these must be weighed and tested with a spirit of humility and repentance. Where Bible passages are referred to, the interpretations given are not intended to be seen as the interpretation of the passage, but as God speaking to his people's current situation by giving an interpretation.
I recently took my eldest daughter, Sophie, to see "Prince of Egypt". God's words to Moses that "with this staff you will do wonders" (Ex 4:17) are emphasised several times, and when the power of God broke out by the Red Sea, I was almost bursting out of my seat with excitement , and a little (but loud) voice next to me called out "That's the Power of God, Daddy". I want to see the Glory of God revealed to the people who don't know Him.
For some time now I have been pondering the Prophetic words concerning major destructive judgments coming on certain places around the world. Several of these have spoken of millions of people dying in cataclysmic events:
1. The glory of God exploding out of Mt Fuji as a challenge to the demonic Gods of Japan - seven million people die in one day.
2. An earthquake along the San Andreas fault as a judgement on Hollywood for its shameless promotion of a Spirit of Seduction, that will drop the entire flat part of LA into the ocean if there's no repentance. This would affect about 25 million people, most of whom would die.
3. Backpack Nuclear bombs being smuggled into the US and Israel, with Satan's objective being to prematurely start WW3, and millions being killed before they have heard the gospel.
4. World-wide anti-semitism as a response to an action by Israel that will see Jews persecuted across the face of the globe.
5. Disturbances in Indonesia that overflow into an invasion of Australia.
There have also been several calls to intercede for Jewish people, and most recently for the South-Eastern US.
In some situations it is difficult to know how to pray, as there are events that have been Prophesied in Scripture. I was always taught that negative words are insight into Satan's plans so that we can pray against them, but that doesn't seem to help in these cases, where the Lord has ordained events to happen. Additionally, I, and many other, are desperate for the Lord to show His Power and Glory to the world, and a part of me rejoices at the idea of God finally acting. I firmly believe we should pray against all these, but am not always sure HOW?
I have told many people of the prophecies, both unsaved and Christians, as there are many still in the church who have no experience of the prophetic, or that God still works wonders. I believe they will know when it happens. I was also worrying about the effects on them if the figures given weren't accurate. Many pastors are very cautious on the issue of the Prophetic - a major Internet discussion for Senior pastors is in progress on the accuracy of many of these major Prophetic Words, to see if they have happened when forecast. I, and many others, want to see the accuracy in the Prophetic.
Then, in the last week, I was struck by the sudden succession of avalanches in Europe, and the devastation they caused in the affected areas. I suddenly realised I had been so focused on the Big Ones, that I had not even thought of smaller judgement events in other areas.
At revival prayer in our church, the Lord began speaking to me from Habbakuk 3:2:
LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.
The Lord told me that much of our praying had been from the first part of the verse. We have been begging the Lord to renew His deeds, for Power for healing, for Power to witness - power that would again change the world. A recent article I read said that a church that is only focused on its own small circle of influence will have little effect. We need to look out and pray for the Lord's work in our whole city, in our whole country, in the earth, and maybe too... in the church down the street with the funny doctrine we don't like. We have been far too focused on our own blessings, on revival in our own city, and in our own church, and have largely ignored the plight of the missionaries, the churches struggling in other lands, and the lost who die every day without the knowledge of God. We have responded to the revelations He has given about the coming release of His power by seeking His face and asking Him to come, and this is Good. But...
Where He wants us to focus our prayers is the last phrase - "in wrath remember mercy."
As Moses stood before the Lord and bargained for the Israelites in the midst of their hardhearted rebellion, as Abraham begged for the Lord to spare the Godless cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, so we need to beg the Lord to remember mercy. We need to ask Him to minimise the effects, to save some that otherwise would die.
The Lord told me clearly that prophetic accuracy is always subject to His mercy. For some of us, it may be an issue of "death to self", to publicly proclaim a Word and then have it not happen - particularly when so many still believe that any inaccuracy indicates a False Prophet. But God did it with Jonah, and many were spared. Maybe in Japan He will save half a million, or more. In Sunday School we sing a song I learned as a child at Beachmission - "God can do anything but fail". He is quite capable of destroying the city of Tokyo without a single life being lost. Can we do otherwise but beg Him to "Remember Mercy".
Habbakuk 3 goes on to describe many of the "natural" disasters we have been witnessing on the news - earthquakes (v6 and 10) , mudslides and avalanches (v6), floods and tidal waves (v10). The Lord impressed me we are to always ask Him for Mercy amidst His wrath. When we see these events on the news - Pray for Mercy! Even when human hope of Survivors has elapsed - Pray for Mercy! God can do anything but fail.
May we have the character to die to ourselves and our desperate need for God, to ask Him also to be merciful to those still in rebellion.
